i n a place where the question of truth, myth, superstition, folklore or
"old wives tales" can change from generation to generation, many a tale
or fact from long ago can be lost or simply neglected to the point of obscurity.
We hope in this humble little space to note some of these.

     A five leaf clover will bring bad luck - pass it on to someone else,
which will bring you good luck.  When it is passed from one person
to another to another, the last person to receive it will have bad luck.
All others in between will have good luck!
  b ards were held in high reguard in Celtic society well into the 17th
century.  Druid bards memorized incantations, mythology and sacred
lore in verse form.  Among other feats a bard could cure sickness,
excorise ghosts and evil spirits,conceive and solve riddles and control
rats with their incantations. Some had the gift of prophecy. It is said
that to anger a bard could result in red rashes and blisters to the
face of the offender.
    newgrange, an ancient passage tomb, in the Boyne Valley of Ireland
predates Stonehenge .  It was constructed in such a way that  yearly,
on December 21st, the shortest day of the year, light entered a small
opening above the entrance of the tomb and illumenated the chamber
for 17 minutes.  The annual event gave the ancient Celts faith that summer
would once again come.
   Today there is a 10 year waiting list to witness this event on December 21st.
     birthstone ring brings good luck to it's wearer.
While putting a ring on the finger of someone else, make a wish.
           It is bad luck to remove your wedding ring.
