The American Gemstone Consultants Consortium is a defined group of professionals groomed in the Gemstone Industry to assist and advise potential buyers of genuine gemstones as an academic, unbiased and neutral agent at the request of a potential buyer, for the purpose of safeguarding the interests of the buyer.
The AGCC has a high degree of standards by which any potential member must qualify to be considered for membership. It is an honor and badge of pride to be considered for membership in the AGCC. Honesty and integrity are the foundation stones of this select group. Those chosen to be members have extensive background including education and practical experience in the study and vital handling of colored gemstones.
This associated group of individual consultants uphold ethical practices and adhere to all local, state, federal and local governing laws. Strict adherence to the guidelines set forth in the Consortium manifest insures the public of an AGCC consultant who's integrity in the performance of duty is unquestioned. The trust of the client is paramount to the AGCC group, and dilligence of continued quality performance is mandatory and monitored.
Our Purpose
The AGCC was established in 1999.
It is the goal and purpose of this Consortium to make known to the public the position of the consultant within the Jewelry industry. The AGCC strives to acknowledge candidates that have shown excellence in the field and in their business practices.
It is first and foremost that we acknowledge Gemstone Consultants as a legitimate and honorable occupation and should be recognized as an integral part of the Jewelry industry available to the public as a service, as is an appraiser.
An AGCC member shall be considered a Gemstone Consultant. It is not said nor implied that any AGCC member is necessarily a jeweler or appraiser. These designations are wholly separate and any one member may have the necessary credentials to make these claims to their educational background and experience, but it is not to be assumed that being a member of AGCC is entitlement to these designations.
